شاهنامه فردوسی نه تنها بزرگ ترین اثرادبی زبان پارسی است بلکه یکی از شاهکارهای ادبی جهان به شمار میآید. شاهنامه آیینه ای است که سیمای راستین ایرانیان را نشان میدهد. سرنوشت پرفراز و نشیب مردمی است که در چهارراه خاور و باختر هزاران سال در تند باد رویدادهای زمان استوار و پا برجا ایستاده اند.
شاهنامه تاریخ مردمانی است که بارها از پای افتاده و دیگر بار به پای برخاستهاند. شاهنامه شناسنامه ی اقوام ایرانی است که از آسیای میانه تا دریای مدیترانه و از شبه قارهی هند تا فراسوی سرزمینهای تازیان را در بر میگیرد.
کانون فرهنگی ایرانیان خرسند است که برای شناساندن بیشتر این اثر بزرگ با همکاری جناب دکتر قاسم بیات و جناب مهندس شاهین نژاد کارگاه شاهنامه را پیشکش دوستداران میکند.
Shahnameh “Epic of Kings” is clearly the greatest literary work in Persian language. It is a monument of poetry and historiography consisting of some 60,000 verses telling mainly the mythical and to some extent the historical past of (Greater) Iran from the creation of the world until the Islamic conquest of Persia in the 7th century.
This remarkable work of Ferdowsi is of central importance in Persian culture, regarded as a literary masterpiece, and definitive of ethno-national cultural identity of Iran.
Come listen to two scholars in Shahnameh, Dr. Ghasem Bayat and Mr. Shahin Nezhad narrating chapters of Shahnameh and commenting on the social, philosophical, historical, and literary impacts of Ferdowsi’s monumental work. We get together on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
The Shahnameh or The Epic of Kings is deservedly one of the classic masterpieces in the world literature. It illustrates tales of ancient Persian heroes and heroins. The fascinating stories and the poet’s mastery of narration bring the legendary characters to life and mesmerize the reader throughout the book.
The significance of this work is that during the period that Arabic language was known as the main language of science and literature, Ferdowsi used few Arabic words in his masterpiece. As Ferdowsi himself says “Persian language is revived by this work”.
