Dr. M. Hossein Tcharmtchi

Dr. M. Hossein Tcharmtchi was born in Tehran, Iran and is an Associate Professor of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital. He received his medical degree from University of Vienna medical school, Austria. Subsequently, he was a resident and chief resident in pediatrics at State University of New York health science Center in Brooklyn, New York. He moved to Houston for a three-year fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Baylor College of medicine. He has been the director of pediatric critical care fellowship program for the past 10 years and cardiovascular intensive care unit fellowship for the past 4 years. He received the Fulbright & Jaworsky Faculty Excellence Award in Educational Leadership and in Teaching and Evaluation both in December 2010. He has been a member of the Academy of Distinguished Educators, Baylor College of Medicine since 2010. He was accepted in the American College of Critical Care Medicine. His primary research interest is education, infection, and coagulation.

He served as the president of the ICF-Houston board of directors during 2014-2018. He is currently a member of the ICF-Houston advisory council.
