Our community is grateful to have a home away from its ancestral homeland, and cares for the less fortunate members of our beloved city.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Association of Iranian American Professionals (AIAP)<\/li>\n<li>Iranian Cultural Foundation (ICF)<\/li>\n<li>Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA)<\/li>\n<li>Shabeh Jomeh<\/li>\n<li>Society of Iranian American Women for Education (SIAWE)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Items accepted for donation:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Monetary Donation<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0Write your check directly to \u201cSearch Homeless Services,&#8221; and a tax receipt will be mailed to you by them afterwards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Canned Food Drive<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0canned meats &amp; fish, hearty soups, juices, cereal, applesauce, crackers, beef jerky, powdered milk, and granola bars<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clothing Drive<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0unused or gently used clothing (washed and ironed) for men,\u00a0women, and children (jackets, sweaters, and new socks are preferred)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hygiene Drive<\/strong><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0toothbrushes, razors, shaving cream, deodorants, body soap, shampoo\/conditioners, hand sanitizer and feminine hygiene products<\/li>\n<li><strong>Toys<\/strong>: new and gently used items<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Drop-Off Centers:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Americo Office<\/strong>: 7575 San Felipe St., Houston, Texas 77063,\u00a0<strong>Saturday, 11\/23\/2013, 10 am to 2 pm<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>ICF Office<\/strong>: 9703 Richmond Rd., Suite 105, Houston, Texas 77042,\u00a0<strong>Sunday 11\/24\/2013, 10 am to 2 pm<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Volunteer Opportunities:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>CITY WIDE CLUB (Thanksgiving Day)<\/strong>:\u00a0 Opportunity to volunteer at the CITY WIDE CLUB\u2019S\u00a035TH\u00a0ANNUAL THANKSGIVING BIG FEAST at the George R. Brown Convention Center on the morning of Thanksgiving Day (<strong>November 28th, 2013<\/strong>).\u00a0 Every year, volunteers serve over 35,000 traditional meals to families on Thanksgiving. Volunteers will receive a free \u201cPersian Thanks Giving\u201d T-shirt. \u00a0A certificate of attendance will also be provided for students.
